In her continued effort to enable and sustain financial inclusion, as well as empower The Woman and Girl-child, Xpress Payments Solutions Limited, a leading financial service provider has struck a social responsibility partnership with Zonta international club of Lagos, a non-profit organisation dedicated to improving the welfare of women and the Girl-Child in Nigeria.

The partnership with Zonta among other organisations, is aimed at providing financial services to the excluded members of the society and ensure wealth creation opportunities for same. This was done through Xpress Payments flagship financial inclusion product, Xpress Agent. It also desires to contribute positively towards reducing poverty by providing financial tools and banking solutions to all segments of the society.
In the light of this partnership, Xpress Payments alongside Zonta, paid an assessment visit to Makoko Fish Market to assess the existing financial situation and proffer innovative ways to ease the challenges of carrying out financial transactions among the traders.
As a service and support oriented organization, Xpress Payments has always been sensitive in enhancing the Nigerian economy through empowerment of citizens, and it therefore comes as no surprise that the organization is investing heavily in the cause of women Empowerment in Nigeria.

This has also prompted the organization to conduct social and community programmes in some rural communities majorly to educate and inform the people about the limitless opportunities that abound with regards to extra income.
The event, held on 22nd of April 2021, was graced by top executive members of Xpress Payments and Zonta International; Mr Bolaji Oladoja; the Head, Agency Banking (Xpress Payments), Mr Rotimi Ajanlekoko; Head, Corporate Communications (Xpress Payments), Mrs. Aderonke; the President Zonta international club of Lagos and the Iya Oloja of Makoko fish market.
Speaking at the event, the President of Zonta international club of Lagos Mrs. Aderonke Adeyegbe called the partnership a ‘’Hassle-free solution for women in business”. According to her, “Xpress Payments is a company that is on a mission to change the payment narrative. There are numerous issues that come along with accepting mobile payments such as processing time, security, and customer trust. With the provision of financial services to the underserved through Xpress Agent, they aim to be a leader in addressing these and many other issues associated with mobile payments.”
Speaking about the partnership and empowerment plan the MD/CEO of Xpress Payments Dr (Mrs) Markie Idowu stated that ‘’Zonta international club of Lagos has provided our company a very fertile platform for the empowerment of women thus our intention is to empower petty traders to maximize the opportunities available to them through the provision of financial services to members of their immediate community.’’
